Thiruvananthapuram, India – The Sport Climbing Federation of India (SCFI) has appointed new leadership in a significant move to enhance the sport’s development in the country. At an election held at the Trivandrum Tennis Club on Sunday, Sh. Sushil Malik, founder and Director of Herbal Healing Hands, Georgia, was named Vice President, while Dr. Rajmohan Pillai, Chairman of the Beta Group, was elected as the new President.
The gathering, led by General Secretary Col. SP Malik, emphasized the importance of scientific athlete development and praised recent successes of young climbers. The new leadership aims to implement a comprehensive strategy addressing physical, psychological, and nutritional aspects to improve athletes’ performance and overall well-being.
Sh. Sushil Malik, known for his extensive international experience and dedication to promoting young talent, particularly in Haryana’s boxing circuit, expressed the importance of high-performance training and recovery for climbers. “It is imperative that we begin to assist more athletes who are testing the limits of today’s climbing challenge with advanced recovery and guidance,” he stated.
Dr. Rajmohan Pillai highlighted the growing interest in climbing as a sport in India and stressed the need for a more sustainable ecosystem to support talented athletes. “We must give our talents more sophisticated support so they can be well-prepared for their mission to thrive,” he said.
In a related development, Sh. Sushil Kumar was elected as the President of the Haryana State Federation, further strengthening the SCFI’s leadership structure.
The SCFI’s new leadership is expected to elevate training and competition standards, with a particular focus on nurturing talent and promoting climbing across India. The Federation aims to ensure that Indian climbers can excel on the global stage, with Sh.
