Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Police has launched its 2024 summer program for students today, July 1st, under the theme “Our Summer is Safety, Happiness, Innovation and Leadership”.
The General Department of Anti-Narcotics’ International Hemaya Center is organising the program in partnership with the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE), the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai (KHDA), and several other entities to engage a wide range of students from various nationalities and ages.
Major General Eid Muhammad Thani Harib, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, emphasised the program, which is held under the patronage of Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, focuses on investing in youth, fostering national identity, respecting laws, and preparing future leaders.
The International Hemaya Center has significantly expanded its reach, growing from 9 training centres in 2018 to 36 centres in 2023, spread across Dubai. The program offers diverse activities, including sports and military training, awareness lectures on security, behavioural, social, traffic, and technology aspects, and specialised programs in swimming, diving, detective skills, climbing, and cycling.
It also includes field trips to cultural and educational sites like Al Shindagha Historical District, Museum of the Future, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Police Museum, and the 901 call centre.
This year’s program introduces new courses like “Promising Detective,” “Future Officer,” “Shooting,” and “Swimming,” alongside existing courses and field trips. The courses will be held in 9 training centres located in Deira, Bur Dubai, and Hatta.
The program’s success is attributed to the support of 19 government and semi-government partners providing facilities, transportation, and specialised trainers.
