Abu Dhabi, UAE – Rashid Al Dhaheri, the region’s leading single-seat racing driver, has achieved a notable success in the fourth round of the Italian F4 Series at the Mugello circuit near Florence, Italy. The Emirati driver secured a third-place finish in Race 2 of the weekend, marking his first main race podium of the season in Italy.
Al Dhaheri, representing the Prema Race Team under Yas Heat colors, not only clinched a podium position but also recorded the fastest lap of the race. This performance follows a strong showing in pre-race qualifying, where he set the second-fastest time.
The Italian F4 Championship, widely regarded as the most competitive in the world, features over 36 aspiring drivers from more than 25 countries. Al Dhaheri’s success in this challenging field underscores his growing reputation in the motorsport world.
Reflecting on his achievement, Al Dhaheri said, “The weekend was quite decent. From the practice sessions through to the races I was consistently showing real pace, so I knew a strong finish was possible.” He acknowledged the fierce competition, noting that all drivers and cars are separated by mere hundredths of seconds.
This podium finish builds on Al Dhaheri’s impressive career trajectory, which has seen him progress from karting to single-seaters. Last season, he was a regular fixture on the Rookie podium in the Italian F4 Championship and achieved podium finishes in various championships across Europe, Asia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The next round of the Italian F4 Championship is scheduled for July 21st at the Paul Ricard circuit in South France, where Al Dhaheri aims to build on this success and potentially secure an even higher podium position.
