DSS Unveils Star-Studded Concerts and Hilarious Comedies as Festival Finale Approaches

DSS 2024 unveils one of the most diverse and dynamic line-ups of artists to ever perform during Dubai’s summer season

Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2024 is set to close its most exciting edition yet with a star-studded line-up of international musicians and comedians. Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), this year’s DSS offers a vibrant array of live entertainment in some of the city’s most iconic venues, including the Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai Opera, and Zabeel Theatre.

Musical Extravaganza
Music lovers are in for a treat with a diverse range of performances. On 24 August, Raffles The Palm Dubai will host the “Candlelight: A Tribute to Adele,” a unique concert experience where the timeless hits of Adele will be performed by the String Quartet amidst a sea of candles, creating an intimate and magical atmosphere.

Iranian pop sensation Reza Sadeghi will grace the Zabeel Theatre stage on 29 August, bringing his soulful vocals and beloved songs to Dubai for a night of Persian pop magic. Bollywood fans can look forward to a thrilling performance by playback singer Shaan on 31 August at the Coca-Cola Arena, where he will deliver a nostalgic trip through some of Bollywood’s most iconic hits.

The musical festivities continue on 1 September at Coca-Cola Arena with a performance by the Filipino band Parokya Ni Edgar. Known for their energetic blend of rock, pop, and satirical covers, the band is expected to deliver an unforgettable night filled with crowd-pleasing anthems.

Comedy Galore
Comedy enthusiasts will not be left out, as DSS 2024 also boasts an impressive comedy line-up. The Laughter Factory is bringing a trio of top-tier comedians, including John Fothergill, Nico Yearwood, and Miqdaad Dolawala, to various venues across Dubai on 23 and 24 August.

On 31 August, Zabeel Theatre will host Tom Alban’s debut performance in Dubai, featuring his signature storytelling style. The evening will be emceed by the GCC’s first Filipina stand-up comedian, Imah Dumagay, with a special opening act by Arab-Irish comedian Sahar Ali.

Zabeel Theatre will also hold its first-ever Sudanese Comedy Night on 1 September, headlined by Awad Shakespeare, a pioneer of Arabic comedy. Joining him will be Amouri, Young Doony, Mohamed Ali, and rising star Rizqa, promising a night of culturally rich and hilarious entertainment.

Tickets for all events are now on sale, offering an opportunity to experience some of the best live entertainment during this summer season. As DSS 2024 enters its final weeks, the city is set to become a hub of cultural celebration, promising unforgettable experiences for all attendees.
