Dubai, UAE – The National Programme for Coders, in collaboration with Samsung Gulf Electronics, has launched a groundbreaking youth training initiative, Galaxy AI Pioneers, aimed at introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to UAE nationals and residents aged 12-17.
This initiative builds on the success of Samsung’s Innovation Campus and the UAE AI Camp 2024, highlighting the growing partnership between Samsung and the UAE government in nurturing future AI talent. Galaxy AI Pioneers is set to run from September 23 to December 15, 2024, offering a comprehensive hybrid learning experience combining virtual and in-person sessions at the Coders HQ in Dubai.
The curriculum covers essential AI concepts such as Python programming, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, AI robotics, natural language processing, and the ethical implications of AI. The programme will also offer students the chance to explore AI applications using Samsung Galaxy devices and develop their own AI solutions through a hands-on capstone project.
Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Mahmoud, an expert from the UAE Office of AI, emphasized the initiative’s role in driving the nation’s digital transformation. He stated, “The Galaxy AI Pioneers programme reflects the UAE’s commitment to being a leader in AI innovation, giving our youth vital skills for the future while instilling a deep understanding of AI’s ethical considerations.”
Shafi Alam, Director at Samsung Gulf Electronics, highlighted Samsung’s dedication to advancing technological literacy among youth, saying, “Galaxy AI Pioneers equips tomorrow’s technology leaders with hands-on experience, preparing them for an AI-driven future.”
In addition to the core curriculum, the programme will feature guest lectures from leading academicians and industry professionals, offering insights into real-world AI applications and potential career opportunities in the tech industry.
With this initiative, Samsung and the UAE aim to foster a new generation of AI innovators capable of contributing to the country’s growing knowledge-based economy.
