Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – AJEX Logistics Services (AJEX), a key player in express distribution and shipping solutions across the Middle East, has entered into a strategic partnership with Widect, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines and a leader in the e-commerce logistics sector. The partnership aims to boost shipping solutions on the Turkiye-to-Middle East route, with a special focus on improving last-mile delivery services across the MENA region.

Through this agreement, AJEX will leverage Widect’s access to Turkish Airlines’ extensive flight network, which connects 340 global destinations, to offer enhanced shipping options to its customers. Daily flights between Istanbul and major Saudi Arabian cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam will ensure faster deliveries, particularly for last-mile services, which are crucial for the booming e-commerce sector.

In return, AJEX will contribute its last-mile delivery expertise, supported by a strong fleet and advanced infrastructure. Together, the two companies will launch joint projects aimed at expanding service offerings and optimizing operations for e-commerce businesses across the region.

The partnership comes at a time of growing trade between Turkiye and Saudi Arabia. In 2021, Turkish exports to Saudi Arabia totaled nearly USD 3 billion, while overall trade between the two countries surged to USD 8.2 billion in 2022. This trend is expected to continue, highlighting the strengthening economic relationship between the two nations.

Both AJEX and Widect are poised to take advantage of the expanding e-commerce markets in Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, with the collaboration expected to streamline cross-border trade and delivery solutions.

Together, we will facilitate smoother and more efficient trade flows between Turkiye and the Middle East.”

Enes Yilmaz, Managing Director of Widect, echoed this sentiment, saying, “As e-commerce continues to boom and bilateral trade grows, we look forward to our continued partnership to deliver enhanced services and ever greater value to businesses across the region.”

The partnership promises to further solidify Saudi Arabia’s position as a logistics hub and boost the region’s role in global trade and e-commerce.
