Agility Signs MOU with Saudi Railway Company

Riyadh: Agility, a global leader in supply chain services, infrastructure, and innovation, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Railway Company (SAR) to explore the development of inter-modal storage, transportation, and processing facilities in Sudair City for Industry and Businesses and near King Khalid International Airport. This strategic collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a global logistics and trade hub.

Speaking on the occasion, Tarek Sultan, Vice Chairman of Agility, highlighted the Kingdom’s rapid advancements in the logistics sector. “Saudi Arabia is moving swiftly toward becoming one of the world’s most important centers of trade, transportation, and logistics. Agility is proud to support and contribute to this journey through our longstanding investments and expertise in the Kingdom’s logistics infrastructure,” he said.

Agility has been a key player in Saudi Arabia for over two decades, having developed state-of-the-art logistics parks in Riyadh and Dammam, with a new complex underway in Jeddah. The Riyadh Logistics Park includes environmentally friendly “green” buildings, the first in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to receive EDGE Advanced certification for sustainable warehousing.

The company’s diverse portfolio in Saudi Arabia includes investments in the energy, aviation, and e-commerce sectors. Agility’s corporate venture arm is also involved in supporting Saudi startups in digital freight and e-commerce. In 2023, Agility signed another MoU with the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA) to bolster the nation’s healthcare sector by expanding digital health services and localizing the medical technology supply chain.

In addition to its role in Saudi Arabia, Agility is a major shareholder in DSV, a global logistics provider, and a key partner in NEOM, the futuristic mega-city project located in the Kingdom’s northwest region.

The collaboration between Agility and SAR reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to becoming a global logistics powerhouse through strategic partnerships and investments, reinforcing its position on the world stage.
