Dubai: GITEX 2024 has emerged as a pivotal event for Pakistan, cementing its status as the Tech Destination 2024. The nation’s impressive achievements and strategic partnerships have made a notable impact on the global technology landscape.

His Excellency Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, has been instrumental in promoting the country as a premier investment hub. His personal visits to key booths at GITEX, including those of Memory Technology Corporation (MTC) and Garaj, operated by Jazz Pakistan, underscored his commitment to fostering international collaboration and investment in Pakistan’s tech sector.

A highlight of the event was the signing of a digital Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, and Houssam Mobied, CEO of MTC. The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures including Jamal Ali Khan, Head of Indirect Sales Channel, and Tabish Zaidi, Country Manager at MTC Dubai, marking a significant milestone in this strategic alliance. The partnership aims to revolutionize cloud services and storage solutions in Pakistan, with Garaj poised to provide essential digital infrastructure for this transformation.

Houssam Mobied’s vision for Pakistan has been a driving force over the past five years. He has successfully introduced global tech leaders like Toshiba, Western Digital, and SanDisk into the Pakistani market, recognizing the untapped potential of its youthful population—64% of whom are under the age of 30. Even amid the challenges posed by the pandemic, MTC opened two new offices in Pakistan, demonstrating the company’s unwavering commitment to regional growth. Mobied’s advocacy for a business-friendly environment has solidified Pakistan’s status as a focal point for MTC’s future endeavors.
