Sindh Senior Minister Declares End of Political Upheaval, Focuses on Public Welfare

Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon Highlights Solar Projects, Transport Initiatives, and Constitutional Amendments in Press Conference

Karachi, Sindh – Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon declared that the political upheaval in the country has come to an end. Under the directives of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari, the Sindh government is now focusing on public welfare and providing relief to the people. Recently, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated six projects in Karachi in a single day, showcasing the Pakistan People’s Party government’s exemplary services across all sectors.

At a press conference at the Directorate of Social and Electronic Media in Karachi, Minister Memon announced the completion of a 2,320 MW solar project at Dow Medical Campus and the full solarization of Karachi Central Jail. Provincial Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and his team are actively working on solarization initiatives across various districts, including projects for 656 schools and 211 rural health centers.

The Sindh government’s priority is to provide electricity through alternative and affordable energy sources. In line with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision, solar systems are being provided to 200,000 families in Sindh, allowing them to enjoy a lifetime of electricity without monthly bills. Positive developments such as the issuance of the Hari Card and the Labor Card, as well as the provision of new homes to 2.1 million people, were also highlighted.

Minister Memon emphasized the Sindh government’s commitment to agriculture, allocating 20 billion rupees through the Hari Card. In the transport sector, double-decker buses are being introduced in Karachi, and work on the Yellow Line BRT is progressing rapidly. The Sindh government also launched Pakistan’s first eco-friendly EV buses, the Pink Bus Service, and plans to introduce EV taxis.

The Excise Department has initiated online registration and transfer of vehicles, and all departments of the Sindh government are performing effectively. The 26th Constitutional Amendment was passed by a two-thirds majority with the consensus of all parliamentary parties.

Minister Memon addressed the challenges faced by the People’s Party from certain members of the judiciary and emphasized the importance of democratic consensus. He also criticized PTI’s campaign against the PPP and highlighted the party’s sacrifices for Pakistan.

In response to questions, Minister Memon expressed relief over the release of Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan’s sisters, emphasizing the People’s Party’s respect for women. He assured that the government is working to enhance the police’s capacity for maintaining law and order and that the BRT Red Line will be completed as soon as possible.
