Dubai, UAE – Asha Chand’s annual Sindhi cultural program marks its Silver Jubilee on 10th November 2024, at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Dubai. This milestone event, titled “Sindhyat Jo Melo”, promises to be a grand celebration of Sindhi heritage, showcasing music, dance, and comedy with top-tier artists from India and the UAE.
Shri Shankar Lalwani, Member of Parliament and a prominent figure in the Sindhi community, will preside as the Chief Guest for this special occasion. Shri Lalwani, known for his dedication to promoting Sindhi culture and as the former Chairman of the Indore Development Authority, will be leading the celebration, honoring the deep cultural roots of Sindhis worldwide.
Asha Chand shares, “For 25 years, we have celebrated our rich heritage with diverse artists from India and Sindh. This Silver Jubilee is a testament to the support from Dubai’s Sindhi community. I am committed to preserving our language and culture as they face erosion in the age of globalization.”
The event will feature performances by notable artists, including singer Pooja Vazirani, public entertainer Vipin Shewania, a dynamic dance troupe, and globally renowned comedian Atul Khatri. Actress Simran Ahuja will anchor the show in her signature confident style. The program will also recognize accomplished Sindhis, including Shankar Lalwani, Atul Khatri, Deepak Keswani, Prakash Vaswani, and other community icons.
Asha Chand, founder of Sindhi Sangat, is well-known for her efforts in preserving the Sindhi language and culture. Through Sindhi Sangat, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives, including digital platforms and educational tools like “Learn Sindhi” and “Speak Sindhi” apps, and global competitions for Sindhi children.
