Dubai, UAE – Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr expanded his trophy collection at the 2024 Beyond Globe Soccer Dubai Awards, winning both the Best Men’s Player and Best Forward awards. Held at the luxurious Atlantis, The Palm, in partnership with Dubai Sports Council, the event also saw Jude Bellingham and Cristiano Ronaldo emerge as major winners.
Vinicius Jr’s accolades came after his stellar 2023/2024 season, where he scored 24 goals and made nine assists in 39 matches, leading Real Madrid to their 15th European title. At just 23 years and 325 days, he broke Lionel Messi’s record as the youngest player to score in multiple Champions League finals. Reflecting on his journey from playing barefoot in São Gonçalo to achieving global recognition, Vinicius expressed gratitude for representing Brazil and inspiring young dreamers.
Jude Bellingham, at 21, claimed the Best Midfielder and Maradona Award. His impressive first season with Real Madrid included winning the LaLiga title, Champions League, Supercopa de Espana, and UEFA Super Cup. He also played a pivotal role in England’s run to the European Championship final. Bellingham credited his family, especially his mother, for his success.
Cristiano Ronaldo, currently with Al-Nassr, was honored with the Best Middle East Player award for the second consecutive year and received the Top Goalscorer of All Time accolade, marking 917 career goals. Ronaldo expressed his ambition to win a trophy for Al-Nassr and highlighted the importance of work ethic and continuous improvement in achieving success.
The 15th edition of the Beyond Globe Soccer Dubai Awards, in collaboration with Beyond Developments, attracted football luminaries including Neymar, Lamine Yamal, Fabio Capello, and Rio Ferdinand. The event broke records with over 100 million fan votes from more than 200 countries, surpassing the previous record of 70 million.
Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti won Best Coach, and Aitana Bonmati of FC Barcelona retained the Best Women’s Player award. Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal was named Emerging Player. Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Ronaldo shared insights on “Talented Football” during the Dubai International Sports Conference.
Other notable winners included Al Hilal’s Jorge Jesus as Best Middle East Coach, Al Ain as Best Middle East Club, and FC Barcelona as Best Women’s Club. Career awards were given to Alessandro del Piero, Florentino Perez, Neymar, Ferdinand, and Courtois.
The Dubai International Sports Conference and Globe Soccer Dubai Awards were celebrated as landmark events, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a premier destination for global sports events.
