News DeskAbu Dhabi, UAE – Under the honorary founding patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abu Dhabi Festival signs a historic partnership with China Shanghai International Arts Festival. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Huda Alkhamis, Founder of ADMAF and Abu Dhabi Festival, and Mr. Li Ming, President of China Shanghai International Arts Festival at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
This historic partnership was forged in the presence of Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE, opening a new chapter of cultural cooperation and understanding between UAE and China, which has united the two nations for four decades. The two festivals, Abu Dhabi Festival and the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, will collaborate on new commissions, co-productions, and cultural exchange programmes for the time in the Arab world.
Huda Alkhamis, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) and Founder of Abu Dhabi Festival, said: “This groundbreaking partnership with the China Shanghai International Arts Festival – the most influential Festival in the Asia-Pacific region – marks a historic first for the Arab world, underscoring the Abu Dhabi Festival’s pivotal role on the global stage.
