Karachi, Sindh – The Sindh Government’s Department of Livestock and Fisheries, led by Minister Muhammad Ali Malkani, has announced the highly anticipated Livestock Expo 2025, set to take place from January 17 to 19 at the Karachi Expo Center. This landmark event, the largest of its kind in Pakistan, will celebrate the country’s rich cultural heritage in livestock while focusing on advancements and sustainability in agriculture.
Speaking at a press conference at the Sindh Assembly, Minister Malkani highlighted the Expo as a pioneering initiative designed to unite stakeholders from across the nation, including representatives from Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The event underscores the Sindh Government’s commitment to advancing the livestock industry and supporting farmers, breeders, and professionals in the sector.
Diverse Activities and Exhibits
The Livestock Expo 2025 will showcase a wide array of livestock breeds, including Kundhi and Neeli Ravi buffaloes, Red Sindhi, Thari, and Sahiwal cattle, alongside crossbreeds, sheep, goats, exotic pets, and camel dances. The event will also feature technical seminars, expert-led research presentations, and demonstrations of modern livestock production practices.
Traditional games such as Malh Malakhra and Kabaddi will add a cultural touch, while musical evenings featuring renowned artists like Sanam Marvi, Deeba Sahar, Ahmed Mughal, and Reshma Parveen will highlight Sindh’s vibrant heritage. Minister for Culture Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah confirmed that these musical evenings would run throughout the event.

A special session on sustainability will address challenges and opportunities in livestock management, offering insights into innovative practices aimed at enhancing productivity and resilience. Collaborative efforts by provincial departments, including Agriculture, Culture, Tourism, and Youth Affairs, will ensure a well-rounded experience for attendees.

One of the main attractions of the Expo will be “The Cavalcade,” a grand animal and bird parade symbolizing the region’s livestock legacy. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony recognizing excellence and contributions in the livestock industry.
