Dubai, UAE – The 24th edition of Medlab Middle East, one of the world’s leading medical laboratory exhibitions, officially opened today at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, inaugurated the event, which runs until 6 February and features over 800 exhibitors from more than 40 countries.
Spanning 17,000 square metres, Medlab Middle East 2025 is expected to attract over 20,000 attendees, offering a platform for knowledge-sharing, networking, and exploring cutting-edge innovations in laboratory medicine. This year’s theme, ‘Empowering today’s laboratories for tomorrow’s future,’ highlights the event’s focus on advancing healthcare through technology and collaboration.
Tom Coleman, Exhibition Director for Informa Markets, emphasized the event’s significance, stating, “Medlab Middle East provides industry professionals with the opportunity to stay updated on the latest developments in laboratory medicine and explore world-leading innovations that enhance lab, hospital, clinic, or medical operations, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes.”

The exhibition showcases technologies from global leaders such as Beckman Coulter, Randox, Siemens Healthineers, and Sysmex, alongside 12 dedicated country pavilions offering a truly international representation of laboratory equipment and management solutions.
New Features and Highlights
This year’s event introduces several new forums and conferences, including the Women’s Health Leadership Forum, which opened with an inspiring address by Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Former Minister in the UAE Government. Other new additions include the Precision Medicine Leadership Forum, ABC Health Forum, Global Lab Leaders’ Breakfast Forum, and GCC Lab Leaders’ Breakfast Forum.
The Medlab Middle East Congress, the world’s only multidisciplinary congress, returns with 12 CME-accredited conferences and debuts a new Lab Automation track. The congress provides a platform for laboratory and healthcare professionals to network with global experts and learn about best practices in pathology and laboratory medicine.
Day One Highlights
The opening ceremony, hosted by radio presenter Kris Fade, featured a plenary session with esteemed international experts, including Professor Nicaise Ndembi, Deputy Director-General of the International Vaccine Institute, and Dr Ahmed Ogwell Ouma, Vice President of Global Health Strategy at the United Nations Foundation.

The first day of the Lab Management track explored topics such as global lab leadership, healthcare transformation through innovation, and advancing diagnostics. Meanwhile, the Haematology conference, chaired by Dr Eiman Al Zaabi of Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, brought together experts from Saudi Arabia and the USA. The Histopathology track also commenced, focusing on the impact of AI tools on pathology screening.
Looking Ahead
Day two will see the launch of the Lab Automation track, with opening remarks by Dr Hady Elkhodary, Director of Laboratory Services at the American Hospital in Dubai. Key sessions will explore the future of diagnostic labs through automation, robotics, and AI.
The Precision Medicine Leadership Forum will also debut tomorrow, featuring a high-level panel discussion moderated by Dr Karolina Kobus, Chief Scientific Officer of Lifespan Group. The session will delve into innovations in genetics, personalised healthcare, and targeted therapies shaping the future of patient care.

Medlab Middle East is supported by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, the Dubai Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Department of Health, and leading international organisations such as the College of American Pathologists and the Saudi Society for Clinical Chemistry.
Held in Hall 1 and Za’abeel Halls 1-7 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the exhibition showcases eight product sectors, including Disposables, Healthcare/General Services, Imaging, Infrastructure, IT, Laboratory, Medical Equipment, and Pharma/Nutrition.
