Dubai, UAE – The Pakistan Pavilion was officially inaugurated at the 30th edition of Gulfood 2025, one of the world’s largest food and beverage trade exhibitions, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event, running from February 17 to 21, 2025, features over 5,500 exhibitors from 129 countries, with Pakistan making a significant mark through its robust participation.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE, inaugurated the pavilion, accompanied by Consul General Hussain Muhammad and Trade & Investment Counselor Ali Zeb Khan. Under the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), 45 Pakistani companies are showcasing a diverse range of agro-based products, including basmati rice, cereals, meat, dairy, spices, pink salt, herbal products, honey, juices, and beverages. Additionally, over 200 Pakistani companies are privately participating in the event, reflecting the country’s growing influence in the global food market.

Ambassador Tirmizi expressed pride in Pakistan’s participation, stating, “It is a matter of great pride that 45 companies under TDAP, along with 200 private companies, are participating in this prestigious event. Our stalls are strategically designed and located to attract local and global buyers, with significant interest in products like basmati rice, spices, pink salt, and cheese.” He also highlighted the upward trend in Pakistan’s agro-based exports, particularly in the MENA region, and emphasized the UAE’s role as a key trading partner.

Ali Zeb Khan, Trade & Investment Counselor, revealed that Pakistan’s agri-food exports reached $8 billion globally in FY24, marking a 37% increase compared to the previous year. This growth was driven by significant increases in exports of rice, maize, sesame, meat, edible fruits, and vegetables.
Mr. Shabbir Merchant, President of the Pakistan Business Council Dubai, pledged full support to Pakistani exhibitors, reaffirming the council’s commitment to promoting Pakistani products in the UAE and beyond. Malik Faisal Jehangir, Chairman of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), thanked Ambassador Tirmizi and the Commercial Section of the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai for their support in enhancing Pakistan’s participation in global trade events like Gulfood.

The Pakistan Pavilion at Gulfood 2025 stands as a testament to the country’s growing presence in the international food market, offering a platform for collaboration, innovation, and business opportunities for Pakistani exporters.
