Dubai, UAE – Emirates Transport (ET), a leading provider of transport, logistics and MRO solutions in the UAE, has partnered with the Emirates Down Syndrome Association (EDSA) to support its programs and activities. This initiative underscores ET’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and enriching the lives of people with Down syndrome through reliable transportation services.

As part of the partnership, Emirates Transport will provide buses for up to 12 annual activities, events, and trips organized by EDSA across the UAE. Additionally, ET will offer a dedicated bus service for people with Down syndrome four times a month in Dubai, ensuring seamless access to educational programs and recreational opportunities.

Since its establishment in 2006, EDSA has supported over 686 beneficiaries with Down syndrome of all ages and nationalities through its comprehensive programs. These include services provided at the Development Center, such as family counseling, early intervention, and supportive therapeutic services (physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy), as well as educational rehabilitation classes, vocational preparation and training programs, and employment initiatives. The association also implements numerous sustainable projects, such as the Emirates Down Syndrome Hospitality Academy, the Photography Club, and the Sewing Workshop, in addition to other programs like the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Club, the Computer Club, sports programs, and recreational activities. Reliable transportation plays a pivotal role in enabling people with Down syndrome to participate fully in these activities, ensuring they benefit from the holistic programs offered by the association.

Peter Milner Joergensen, acting CEO & CFO at Emirates Transport, highlighted the importance of the partnership: “We are honored to support the Emirates Down Syndrome Association in their mission to empower people with Down syndrome and enrich their lives. This partnership aligns with our values of social responsibility and demonstrates the power of public-private collaboration in building a more inclusive and supportive society. By providing practical transportation solutions, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the Association’s efforts and foster opportunities for people with Down syndrome and their families.”

Through this collaboration, Emirates Transport reaffirms its dedication to leveraging its resources to create a positive social impact while championing initiatives that reflect its commitment to community development and inclusion.

Dr. Manal Jaarour, Chairman of EDSA, expressed gratitude for the partnership: “The support from Emirates Transport will have a significant impact on the lives of the beneficiaries with Down syndrome we serve. Access to reliable transportation ensures smoother participation in educational and recreational trips, which are essential for their development and well-being.”

The UAE, as one of the first countries to ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, continues to demonstrate its commitment to inclusion under the directives of its wise leadership. This collaboration reflects the nation’s vision of integrating individuals with disabilities into society and harnessing their potential for sustainable development.
