Dubai: From March 5 to March 9, 2025, the world witnessed a beautiful fusion of creativity and kindness as the Ramadan Online Art Auction returned for its fifth edition, uniting art enthusiasts and philanthropists under a shared mission: to bring free healthcare to thousands through the Pakistan Medical Centre (PMC). Organized by the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) and Poetic Strokes, this digital gathering transcended borders, turning brushstrokes and calligraphy into lifelines for those in need.

A Bid for Hope, A Brushstroke for Change

Every click of a bidder’s mouse echoed with purpose. For five days, masterpieces from Pakistani artists—vivid landscapes, intricate calligraphy, and soul-stirring abstracts—found new homes, but more importantly, they became symbols of hope. “Every bid wasn’t just for an artwork—it was a testament to the spirit of our ever-compassionate community,” shared Muhsin Al Banna, Chairperson of PMC’s Executive Committee. His words resonated deeply, especially when reflecting on PMC’s impact: in 2024 alone, 65% of its patients received free treatment. “Now, with this generosity, we’ll reach even more lives,” he added, gratitude palpable in his voice.

A Tradition of Giving, A Legacy of Unity

For PAD General Secretary Zahid Hassan, the auction has blossomed into a cherished annual tradition. “This year, yet again, showed the collective strength of our community,” he remarked. The event’s success lies not only in funds raised but in the unity it fosters—a global family of artists, donors, and supporters who believe in art’s power to heal beyond canvases.

Ayesha Imtiaz of Poetic Strokes, PAD’s collaborator, marveled at the outpouring of love. “It’s humbling to see bidders who believed in the cause as much as the art,” she said. The collection’s diversity—showcasing Pakistan’s artistic brilliance—proved that creativity knows no bounds. “Watching these pieces find new homes while supporting free healthcare… it’s magic,” she smiled.

A Night of Gratitude, A Lifetime of Impact

The auction culminated in a heartfelt Gratitude Iftar on March 9, where over 350 supporters, community leaders, and dignitaries gathered under one roof. The evening honored PMC’s unsung heroes—donors, volunteers, and medical staff—who’ve turned compassion into action. Since its 2020 launch, PMC, the GCC’s first non-profit healthcare facility, has touched over 110,000 lives across 92+ nationalities, offering free care to laborers, low-income families, and refugees.

Art as a Bridge, Community as a Force

Behind the scenes, support with entities like the Department of Islamic Affairs, Dar Al Ber Society, and Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA) fortified this mission. Yet, the true heroes are the everyday individuals—artists who donated their work, bidders who opened their hearts, and families who shared their stories of healing.

As the 2025 auction closed, it left behind a powerful truth: art is not just to admire. In the right hands, it becomes a bridge between suffering and solace, between privilege and purpose. Every brushstroke auctioned, every life transformed, reminds us that compassion is the most timeless masterpiece of all.
