KATHMANDU – Afghanistan U19 kicked off their 3-match Youth One Day International (YODI) series with a resounding 130-run victory over Nepal U19 in the first match. The visitors defended their total convincingly, dismantling the home side with a clinical bowling performance.
Mahboob Khan (2/11), Zaitullah Shaheen (2/24), and Wahedullah Zadran (2/25) led the attack, each picking up two wickets. They were well-supported by Nazifullah Amiri (1/25), Abdul Aziz Khan (1/29), and Nasratullah Nuristani (1/54), who chipped in with one wicket each.
With this dominant win, Afghanistan U19 take a 1-0 lead in the series and will look to seal the series in the second YODI, scheduled for Sunday.
