Doha, Qatar – The UAE Under-16 cricket team has successfully defended their title at the ACC Men’s U16 West Zone Cup, finishing the tournament unbeaten and outclassing Kuwait in a resounding final held last night in Doha.
Led by captain Ayaan Misbah, who delivered a scintillating 143 off 131 balls (15 fours, 4 sixes), UAE piled up an imposing total of 317 for nine. Their bowlers backed up the batting brilliance, bundling out Kuwait for just 172 in 43.1 overs. Nasim Khan was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4 for 20, while Aryan Thapar contributed handsomely with 3 for 21.
The tournament featured six teams including hosts Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia. UAE’s triumph marks a continuation of their dominance in the region, having won the previous edition in Sharjah.

The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) congratulated the team in an official statement: “The Emirates Cricket Board is delighted with the U16 team’s performance in Doha which has resulted in the successful defence of the ACC Men’s U16 West Zone Cup. The ECB will continue to provide opportunities to these youngsters who are the future stars of UAE cricket.”
The board also extended its best wishes to the players and coaching staff, applauding their dedication and promising to support their cricketing ambitions.
