Dubai: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai, organized a special ceremony in honor of its 2024 cohort of retirees — 50 former employees who, throughout their years of service, made significant contributions to the organization’s path of institutional excellence.

The event was attended by Lt. General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai; Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General; Major General Awad Al-Awaim, Assistant Director General for the Human Resources and Financial Sector; along with other assistant director generals.

In recognition of their dedication, GDRFA Dubai launched this ceremony to honor the loyal efforts of its retired staff. Al Marri introduced the title “Companions of the Journey” instead of “retirees,” as a tribute to their enduring contributions, which laid the foundation for the organization’s continued growth and success.

During his speech, Lt. General Al Marri expressed heartfelt appreciation, saying: “Today, we celebrate a distinguished group of colleagues who gave their utmost dedication and helped shape the excellence GDRFA Dubai has achieved. Our doors will always remain open to them, they will forever be part of our institutional family.”

Major General Awad Al-Awaim also noted, “A person’s true value lies in the positive impact they leave behind. Companions of the journey have consistently embodied values of dedication and loyalty, leaving a professional legacy we are proud of and continue to learn from.”
