Dubai, UAE – The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) organized a spectacular two-day Eid celebration for workers across various sectors, reaffirming Dubai’s commitment to its diverse expatriate workforce. Held in the Al Quoz area under the theme “Let’s Celebrate Eid Together,” the event welcomed over 42,000 attendees and featured prizes worth approximately AED 500,000, including cars, gold bars, return flight tickets, and AED 500 shopping vouchers.

The celebration, attended by senior GDRFA officials including Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Assistant Director General, and Colonel Omar Matar Khamees Matar Al Mezaina, Assistant Director General for Labor Relations, aimed to honor the contributions of the labor community to Dubai’s ongoing growth and success.

Workers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Nepal participated in the festive activities, which included musical and dance performances, cultural showcases, and celebrity appearances by Bollywood stars.

“This celebration is our way of expressing deep gratitude to the labor force that builds the foundation of Dubai’s prosperity,” said Major General Bin Suroor. Colonel Al Mezaina added, “The event reflects our commitment to the values of inclusivity and unity, providing workers a joyful platform to celebrate Eid together.”

The large-scale event was made possible through the collaboration of several government entities including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dubai Police, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

Humanitarian organizations also played a vital role in supporting the event, including the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, Dubai Charity Association, Beit Al Khair Society, Mai Dubai, We One, and the Nabadat Al Emarat Volunteer Team.

To start Eid al-Adha with spiritual unity, GDRFA also organized Eid prayers for the workers on the morning of the festival.

The grand celebration served not only as a gesture of appreciation but also as a powerful reminder of Dubai’s dedication to fostering a sense of belonging among all who contribute to its vibrant society.
