Dubai, UAE – The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) has successfully wrapped up its vibrant Eid Al-Adha celebration, “Let’s Celebrate Together,” with record-breaking engagement and a heartwarming show of community solidarity.
Held on June 6 and 7 across labor accommodation zones in Dubai, the initiative formed part of the “Community Year 2025” efforts, aiming to foster inclusion and appreciation among the emirate’s workforce.
More than 9,000 laborers joined in the Eid prayers, marking the spiritual beginning of the event. The festivities continued with live performances in Al Quoz from 6:00 PM until midnight, featuring a rich lineup of cultural and artistic shows that drew an on-ground audience of 50,000.
Parallel to the physical events, GDRFA Dubai’s digital platform witnessed overwhelming participation. From 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, over 42,000 users engaged online, contributing to more than 151,000 live stream views, 1,000+ comments, and 3,000 new participants.

The celebration culminated with the distribution of 400 prizes worth over AED 500,000, including cars, smartphones, gold bars, airline tickets, and shopping vouchers. In a gesture of personalized appreciation, prizes were delivered directly to the winners’ homes.
Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs, stated: “When an initiative begins with the call to Eid prayer and ends with genuine joy in the eyes of thousands, we are not just organizing an event—we are shaping a social memory we are proud of.”

Colonel Omar Matar Khamis Matar Al Muzeina, Assistant Director General for the Labor Relations Regulation Sector, emphasized that the spontaneous and widespread engagement was “one of the strongest indicators of success,” noting that GDRFA Dubai was keen to bring the Eid experience directly to workers’ housing areas and turn the occasion into a lasting memory.
The event was made possible through strong collaboration with partners, most notably the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs. GDRFA Dubai also extended heartfelt thanks to its Gold Sponsors—du, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Al Fattan, and flydubai—for their generous support and commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Additional support came from several humanitarian organizations, including the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, Dubai Charity Association, Beit Al Khair Society, Mai Dubai, We One Foundation, and the Emirates Pulse Volunteer Team.
The initiative concluded with a renewed commitment from GDRFA Dubai to continue redefining public service through inclusive, people-first programs that uplift communities and enrich lives across Dubai.
