Dubai, UAE – Following a vibrant season of artistic engagement, Tashkeel is presenting an inspiring series of youth and adult workshops this August at Al Safa Art & Design Library and Tashkeel’s Makerspace at Alserkal Avenue. The month-long program invites participants of all ages to explore a variety of artistic disciplines in a dynamic, inclusive setting.

Activities include clay modeling, painting, pottery, drawing, ceramic crafting and portraiture, each led by experienced UAE-based artists. With dedicated sessions for youth and adults, the workshops are designed to foster creativity, enhance artistic skills and nurture personal expression through hands-on experiences. Whether you’re discovering a new medium or building on existing talents, Tashkeel’s August lineup offers something for every creative mind.

August 2025 Summer Programs Schedule

Wheel Throwing Series with Subin Herbert, Asad Hafeez

August 10 | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM| Adults | Tashkeel Makerspace – Alserkal Avenue

Explore the art of pottery in a two-session Wheel Throwing Workshop designed for beginners and enthusiasts. Learn to center, shape and refine clay vessels on the pottery wheel, creating functional pieces like cups or bowls. All materials are provided. Finished works will be ready for pickup after the final session.

Introduction to Intaglio: Etching Series with Yanick Mua

August 17, 24| 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM | Adults | Tashkeel Makerspace – Alserkal Avenue

Dive into the art of etching in a two-part printmaking workshop. Over two 3-hour sessions, participants will design, etch, ink, and print their own artworks using traditional intaglio techniques. No experience needed. All materials are provided, and each participant will take home a set of hand-pulled prints.

Jewelry Clay Series with Nazanin Fakhar

August 24, 31 | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM| Adults | Tashkeel Makerspace – Alserkal Avenue

Get creative with clay in this hands-on Ceramic Jewelry Workshop. Participants will design and glaze personalized pieces inspired by shapes, symbols, or meaningful messages. Finished creations will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup later. No experience needed. All materials are provided.

Artist Bios

Asad Hafeez  is a ceramic artist and honors graduate in Ceramic Design from the National College of Arts (NCA), Lahore (Class of 2022). For Asad, ceramics is not just a craft but an expressive art form. His work reflects a deep exploration of cultural narratives and their interplay with ceramic artistry, blending skilled craftsmanship with innovative design.

Yanick Mua is a Cameroonian interdisciplinary artist based in the UAE, specializing in painting and printmaking. Passionate about the interplay of texture and color, Yanick’s work combines spontaneity with careful control, creating visually compelling pieces.

Subin Herbert an Indian pottery artist, Subin blends traditional and modern techniques to create unique vessels using handbuilding and wheel-throwing methods. His work combines Chinese and Western styles, ranging from simple to intricate forms. He is passionate about making pottery accessible to all skill levels, including kids and beginners.

Nazanin Fakhar an Iranian pottery artist who transitioned from a career in Information Technology to pursue her passion for ceramics, a craft passed down from her grandfather. After running a successful printing business, she moved to Dubai in 2023 to focus fully on pottery. She now leads workshops across the city and is exploring innovative techniques, including AI and 3D printing, to expand her creative practice.
