DUBAI, UAE – iACCEL Gulf Business Incubator (iACCEL GBI), a prominent go-to-market accelerator operating under the patronage of Dubai SME, announced today the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC), Toronto’s premier non-profit startup incubator with 35 years of experience. This landmark agreement establishes a robust cross-border framework designed to facilitate the international expansion of high-potential startups between the United Arab Emirates and Canada.

This significant partnership leverages TBDC’s extensive experience in guiding global startups into the North American market and iACCEL GBI’s proven success in the UAE and wider Middle East, creating a streamlined pathway for international growth. It aims to open Canada’s vibrant tech ecosystem to UAE and Middle Eastern startups, while simultaneously offering Canadian entrepreneurs clear avenues into the burgeoning GCC Region.

The collaboration comes at a pivotal time when both countries are actively seeking to strengthen their respective startup ecosystems. It underscores a shared commitment to empowering founders to succeed beyond their domestic markets. iACCEL GBI and TBDC will collaborate on new initiatives and programs designed to provide startups with essential support networks, expert guidance, and tangible opportunities for global market expansion.

Startups participating in these joint initiatives will benefit from comprehensive support tailored to new market preparation, along with direct access to a network of investors, seasoned business leaders, and local experts. The “Toronto–UAE Innovation Bridge” will also offer continuous access to shared resources, trusted advice, and invaluable insights gained from fellow founders.

“Partnering with TBDC represents a new chapter in how we help entrepreneurs achieve global ambitions,” stated Deepak Ahuja, Co-founder and CEO of iACCEL GBI. “By working closely with an organization that has decades of experience supporting international startups in North America, we’re opening exciting opportunities for founders of this region to scale into one of the world’s most dynamic technology regions.”

Anishkaa Gehani, Co-founder of iACCEL GBI, added, “Startups thrive when they have access to fresh perspectives and the right ecosystem to support their journey. Our partnership with TBDC is about fulfilling this need – by creating a platform where entrepreneurs from the UAE and Canada can connect, test ideas in new environments, and accelerate their ambitions with confidence.”

Vikram Khurana, Chairman of Toronto Business Development Centre, commented, “Our partnership with iACCEL GBI creates a launchpad for UAE startups to grow into North America and pathways for Canadian ventures into the Gulf. The UAE is a critical node in the global innovation landscape and this partnership will foster two-way access between two major tech and investment hubs.”

With both the UAE and Canada rapidly emerging as strong startup hubs, this strategic alliance positions iACCEL GBI and TBDC to play an active role in shaping global innovation, further solidifying the UAE’s reputation as a top destination for entrepreneurs.
