Dubai, UAE – The UAE Muay Thai Youth Open Championship roared to life at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Friday, with 422 young fighters stepping into the ring for three days of action-packed competition.
From powerful kicks to lightning-fast punches, the opening day saw 77 thrilling bouts across different weight and age categories, featuring athletes as young as 10 and as determined as 17. A team of 30 referees kept a close eye on the matches, ensuring fair play as the fighters battled for a place in the finals.

Organised by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, the event is more than just a tournament — it’s a launchpad for the next generation of champions. With the UAE preparing to host the IFMA Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi next month, this championship is seen as a vital step in getting young athletes ready for the international stage.
Adding to the buzz, the opening ceremony was attended by Sorayut Chasombat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the UAE, and Ali Khoury, Board Member of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, highlighting the strong ties between the UAE and Thailand, the home of Muay Thai.

The action continues over the weekend, with the finals set for Sunday, 17 August. The decisive bouts will run from 10am to 7pm, before the champions are finally crowned.
