DUBAI, UAE – Dubai Humanitarian, the world’s largest humanitarian logistics hub, today launched a powerful new documentary, “Coming Together: The Dubai Humanitarian Story.” The film, which premiered on World Humanitarian Day, offers an unprecedented behind-the-scenes glimpse into the facility’s critical operations, from responding to devastating floods in Pakistan to the escalating conflict in Gaza.

The documentary highlights the seamless coordination between United Nations agencies, international NGOs, and government partners within Dubai Humanitarian’s sprawling 150,000 square metres of warehouses. These facilities, generously donated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, enable essential supplies like vaccines, health kits, and clean water to reach affected regions within hours.

Giuseppe Saba, CEO of Dubai Humanitarian, emphasized the hub’s profound impact. “Dubai Humanitarian is more than a logistics hub – it’s a global lifeline,” Saba stated. “This film shows what’s possible when the world comes together, and when the UAE leads with purpose.”

Saba also revealed impressive figures for the first half of 2025, noting that Dubai Humanitarian facilitated the delivery of over AED 179.2 million in aid to 81 countries globally. He highlighted the particularly striking need for shelter and health aid amidst ongoing global challenges. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to stand with our international humanitarian community in safeguarding the most vulnerable,” he added.

The film underscores the pivotal contributions of key partners, including the UN World Food Programme, UNHCR, Dubai Customs, and Emirates Airline. Their combined expertise in customs clearance, logistics, and airlift capabilities ensures that relief efforts are swift, seamless, and scalable, enabling aid to be provided in record time. Beyond the logistical prowess, the documentary also captures the human element, telling the stories of dedicated aid workers, customs officials, and airline crews who collaborate to deliver hope.

Sajeda Shawa, Head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) UAE, reiterated the core principles guiding these efforts. “We need to make sure humanitarian aid is delivered based on humanitarian principles – with no discrimination and with equality,” Shawa commented. “Being the voice of those who have no voice is not a luxury – it’s a responsibility, an honour and a life calling.”

A key innovation featured in the documentary is Dubai Humanitarian’s unique AI-powered Humanitarian Logistics Databank. This advanced system provides real-time analytics, demand forecasting, and stock visibility across various time zones. It empowers aid agencies to anticipate needs, circumvent price surges, and prepare for seasonal demands, such as monsoon-related shelter requirements in Bangladesh.

Dubai’s strategic geographical location, merely 10 minutes from Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum Airport, ensures that humanitarian cargo can reach two-thirds of the world’s hazard-prone population within a rapid 4 to 8 hours. With plans to expand the databank to 11 hubs, future efforts will increasingly focus on sourcing aid locally, which is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions and further expedite delivery times.

The documentary is now available for viewing on the Dubai Humanitarian YouTube channel.
