DUBAI: The “Fridge Al Fareej” initiative, a collaborative effort by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, Furjan Dubai, the Taqdeer Award Committee, and G.D.R.F.A Dubai, has provided essential relief to more than 19,000 construction workers this summer. The campaign aimed to combat the risks of dehydration and heat-related illnesses by distributing free cold water, juices, ice creams, and snacks directly to laborers across the emirate.

Specially equipped refrigerated vehicles were deployed to various construction sites, ensuring the supplies reached workers efficiently. This year’s program built upon the success of last year’s initiative, reaching a significant number of workers in construction-heavy areas like Al Barsha South, Arjan, and Dubai South. Senior G.D.R.F.A officials personally oversaw the distribution efforts, ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of refreshments.

G.D.R.F.A officials praised the initiative as a “shining example of fostering unity and compassion in the community,” highlighting that the welfare of workers remains a top priority for Dubai. The campaign received widespread appreciation from the workers and the public, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to supporting its workforce and ensuring their well-being.
