Dubai, UAE – The Waterfront Market, one of Dubai’s most popular fresh food destinations, is marking Diwali with colour, flavour and community spirit — unveiling the largest Rangoli of Spices ever created in the city.
The striking artwork, measuring six metres by six metres, has been crafted using over 60 kilograms of spices including turmeric, chilli, coriander, cinnamon and cloves — all sourced from the Market’s own stalls. The vibrant display, which fills the atrium with festive aroma and colour, will remain open to visitors until October 26.
The Rangoli was inaugurated at a special ceremony attended by Sunil Kumar, Consul (Passport) from the Consulate General of India in Dubai, along with representatives from Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE). The event forms part of DFRE’s Festival of Lights citywide Diwali celebrations.

Celebrating light, culture and togetherness, the Waterfront Market has transformed into a hub of festive activity. Shoppers can explore themed displays, family-friendly attractions, and stalls brimming with ingredients central to Diwali cooking and gifting.
The Dry Goods & Spices Market features over 250 varieties of dates, nuts and dried fruits, alongside fragrant spices such as saffron, cardamom and nutmeg — essentials for traditional mithais and festive dishes. Meanwhile, the Fruits & Vegetables Market showcases more than 160 varieties of produce, including Indian favourites such as drumsticks, ivy gourd, okra, pumpkin and custard apples.

Adding to the fun, children can take part in the Foodie Explorer Passport activity, collecting stamps as they learn about ingredients and shopping traditions, while kid-sized “Little Rollers” trolleys make them part of the action.
A celebration of culture and community, the Waterfront Market continues to serve as the city’s culinary heartbeat — where every festive meal begins.
The Market is open daily. More information is available at www.waterfrontmarket.ae, and on Instagram @wfm.uae and Facebook @waterfrontmarket.
