Dubai, UAE: In a landmark move for Emirati sports leadership, AMH Sports has announced the launch of the Aspin Stallions, the first UAE-owned franchise to compete in the prestigious Abu Dhabi T10 League.
The franchise is owned by Ahmad Khoori, Member of the Federal National Council and former Senior Vice President of Emirates Airline. The initiative is seen as a major stride toward achieving the goals of UAE Vision 2031, which prioritises global excellence and wider Emirati participation in international sports.
“Under the wise leadership of our President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE continues to lead by example across all fields — including sports,” Khoori said. “The Aspin Stallions are not just a team; they are a symbol of national pride, youth empowerment and cross-cultural collaboration.”
Strengthening India–UAE Sports Ties
The new franchise also underscores the deepening sports diplomacy between the UAE and India. With more than nine million expatriates residing in the Emirates — nearly half of whom are ardent cricket followers — the formation of the Aspin Stallions is expected to resonate strongly with South Asian fans.
AMH Sports says the team will serve as a bridge between communities, celebrating the UAE’s diversity while promoting cricket as a unifying sport.
Support from UAE’s Sporting Institutions
The Abu Dhabi T10 League, sanctioned by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and chaired by His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, has rapidly become one of the most dynamic cricket formats in the world.
Shaji Ul Mulk, Founder and Chairman of the T10 League, praised the addition of the new team. “We welcome Aspin Stallions as the first Emirati-owned franchise in the league. This is a proud moment for both Abu Dhabi T10 and the UAE sporting ecosystem,” he said. “It reflects the nation’s rising status as a global sports hub.”
The launch has also been supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Abu Dhabi Tourism, whose efforts continue to strengthen the UAE’s international reputation as a host of world-class sporting events.
