Sharjah, UAE: Khorfakkan is preparing a vibrant programme of celebrations to mark the UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad, with a series of maritime, musical and cultural events set to take place at the landmark Khorfakkan Amphitheatre and surrounding areas.

The celebrations will begin on 28 November with a maritime parade along the Khorfakkan Corniche, accompanied by flyboard displays that are expected to draw large crowds. Gathering for the event starts at 2pm, with official activities kicking off an hour later. Maritime bands will perform national songs and anthems, setting an upbeat tone for the festivities.

On 29 November, the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre will host a special musical evening featuring renowned Emirati singer Hussain Al Jasmi and artist Fouad Abdelwahid. Beginning at 7.30pm, the concert will blend traditional melodies with contemporary rhythms, highlighting themes of patriotism and national pride.

Festivities continue on 1 December with a rich cultural programme inside the amphitheatre, including the operetta “Pulse of the Nation”, which celebrates the UAE’s heritage, the story of the Union, and the country’s ongoing progress. Later that evening, a free-entry musical night will bring together artists Faiz Al Saeed, Khalifa Al Washahi, and Mohammed Al Wazem at 8pm.

The amphitheatre’s outdoor plaza will transform into a hub of community engagement, offering cultural and national platforms for children and youth, poetry evenings, dialogue sessions with senior citizens, and a series of cultural competitions. The wider area will feature spaces for productive Emirati families, folk and military performance groups, food trucks, a photography studio, and exhibitions celebrating the nation’s heritage.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Hajar Mountains and overlooking the Khorfakkan Corniche, the amphitheatre has become a defining cultural landmark of Sharjah. Its blend of Islamic and Roman architectural styles, along with its scenic surroundings of coastline and wadis, has earned Khorfakkan its title as the “Bride of the East Coast.”

Across the city, streets have been adorned with festive lights and decorations to mark the national occasion. Officials say the programme has been designed to engage all segments of society through interactive activities that encourage community participation and highlight the stories behind the UAE’s formation.
