Dubai, UAE: The Pakistan Business Council (PBC) Dubai held a successful Journalist Meetup at COVE (B&B Restaurant), Oud Metha, bringing together prominent members of the UAE’s media community for an evening focused on strengthening communication and enhancing collaboration.
The gathering opened with a welcome address by Shabbir Merchant, Chairman of PBC Dubai, who thanked journalists for their continued support in promoting the Council’s initiatives and highlighting the contributions of the Pakistani business community in the UAE. Merchant underscored the need for open dialogue and strong media relationships to further PBC’s mission.
An in-depth presentation by Iftikhar Ali Tatlah, Vice Chairman – Events & Media, outlined the Council’s achievements over the past year, upcoming programmes, and long-term strategic goals. Tatlah also touched upon key UAE media regulations and stressed the significance of responsible reporting in strengthening community institutions.
Senior Vice Chairman Kamran Ahmed Riaz acknowledged the media’s role in providing timely coverage and consistent engagement, while Vice Chairman Finance & Member Engagement Noor Karim Afridi discussed ongoing efforts to enhance member interaction, professional development, and business networking opportunities within the Council.

During the event, General Secretary Khurram Khawaja introduced the soon-to-be-launched PBC Mobile App, aimed at improving communication, accessibility, and real-time updates for members.
A lively open discussion followed, with journalists sharing suggestions to boost PBC’s outreach, visibility and communication strategies. Council representatives welcomed the feedback, affirming their commitment to incorporating media recommendations into future planning and reaffirming adherence to UAE reporting regulations.
As a token of appreciation, the PBC leadership presented Certificates of Appreciation to all participating journalists for their contribution to amplifying the Council’s work and supporting the Pakistani business community in the UAE.

The evening also featured a cake-cutting ceremony in celebration of the upcoming UAE National Day, symbolising the strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The event concluded with a networking dinner, offering an opportunity for meaningful engagement between PBC officials and media professionals.
