Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – With just days remaining before the end of the year, art lovers in the Saudi capital are being urged to make the most of BIENALSUR 2025, currently on display at the Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMoCA @ JAX) in Diriyah. The exhibition runs until December 31, offering a final opportunity to experience one of the Kingdom’s most dynamic contemporary art showcases.

The fourth Saudi edition of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of South America brings together works by 26 Saudi and international artists, transforming SAMoCA’s galleries into interactive and immersive spaces that encourage play, participation and exploration.

Since opening on October 15, BIENALSUR 2025 has attracted a diverse audience of local, regional and international visitors, highlighting Saudi art in dialogue with global contemporary practices. Interactive sculptures, walkthrough installations and audience-activated artworks invite visitors of all ages to engage directly with the pieces rather than observe from a distance.

Curated by BIENALSUR Artistic Director Diana Wechsler under the theme “Let’s Play: A Labyrinth of Options”, the exhibition reflects SAMoCA’s mission to foster cultural exchange and creative dialogue. Participating Saudi artists include Nasser Al Turki, Arwa Al Neami, Rex Chouk and Dur Kattan, alongside renowned international names such as Italy’s Michelangelo Pistoletto, Argentina’s Marta Minujín, British artist Robbie Cooper and Lebanon’s Mireille Kassar.

The Saudi chapter forms part of BIENALSUR’s 10th anniversary edition, which spans more than 70 cities and 140 institutions worldwide. Founded by Argentina’s Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF) and supported by UNESCO, BIENALSUR is recognised as a major global platform for contemporary artistic experimentation and dialogue.

As Saudi Arabia’s first museum dedicated to contemporary art, SAMoCA @ JAX has quickly established itself as a key cultural institution since its launch in 2023. Hosting BIENALSUR 2025 aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals to enrich cultural life, support creative professionals and position Riyadh as a regional hub for contemporary art.

With the exhibition closing at the end of December, organisers say this is the final chance for visitors to experience a world-class showcase that reflects the diversity, innovation and growing confidence of Saudi Arabia’s cultural scene.
