Riyadh, UAE – Oberoi Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its footprint in Saudi Arabia with the opening of The Oberoi, Wadi Safar in the second half of 2026, marking the brand’s entry into one of the Kingdom’s most culturally significant destinations.
Positioned as the first luxury resort and gateway to Wadi Safar, the property is located adjacent to Diriyah and spans 62 square kilometres of largely untouched natural landscape, offering guests a secluded retreat within close reach of the capital’s historic heart.
The resort will feature a limited inventory of 60 rooms and 10 private villas, underscoring its focus on exclusivity, privacy and personalised service. In line with the brand’s philosophy, guests can expect Oberoi Hotels & Resorts’ hallmark intuitive, effortless and graceful hospitality.
Overlooking the Royal Equestrian & Polo Club and a Greg Norman-designed 27-hole championship golf course, The Oberoi, Wadi Safar combines refined luxury with expansive views of dramatic escarpments and natural terrain.
Designed to cater to both leisure and high-end events, the resort will include a ballroom accommodating up to 160 guests, alongside a spa and wellness centre, a dedicated yoga studio, swimming pool, kids club and a fully equipped business centre.
Dining will be a key highlight, with five distinct food and beverage venues, each offering outdoor seating. Guests will be able to dine al fresco while overlooking either a central grand water feature or the surrounding escarpment, creating what the developers describe as an immersive and memorable culinary setting.
With its emphasis on discretion, landscape-led design and cultural proximity, The Oberoi, Wadi Safar is expected to play a significant role in redefining luxury hospitality in Saudi Arabia, appealing to travellers seeking sophistication, privacy and meaningful cultural immersion.
The opening aligns with the Kingdom’s broader push to develop world-class tourism destinations while preserving heritage and natural beauty.
