Dubai, UAE – Hussain Muhammad, the Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, visited the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Dubai to pay his respects following the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, the Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and former Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
The Pakistani envoy was received by officials at the Bangladesh mission, where he conveyed his deepest sympathies to the diplomatic staff and the Bangladeshi expatriate community in the UAE.
Signing the official condolence book opened in memory of the former premier, Hussain Muhammad paid tribute to her political career and her efforts in fostering bilateral ties.
“The lifelong service of Begum Khaleda Zia to Bangladesh’s growth and development leaves a lasting legacy,” the Consul General wrote.
Highlighting her role in regional diplomacy, he added, “She was a committed friend of Pakistan. The Government and the people of Pakistan stand with the people of Bangladesh in this moment of sorrow.”
He concluded his written tribute by extending sympathies to the bereaved family. “I extend heartfelt condolences to her family and the people of Bangladesh. Her leadership and services will be remembered with respect. May her soul rest in peace.”
Begum Khaleda Zia, who served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for two terms, was a defining figure in the nation’s political history. Her passing has drawn condolences from diplomatic missions and leaders across the region.
