Dubai: In line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to designate 2026 as the Year of the Family, Dubai’s Rental Disputes Center (RDC) has partnered with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment to launch a new humanitarian initiative titled “Sitr.”

Valued at AED 10 million, the year-long initiative aims to support families facing financial hardship due to rental obligations, while reinforcing social cohesion and family stability in line with the UAE’s National Agenda for Family Growth.

The initiative focuses on providing a sense of security to beneficiary families by resolving rental-related enforcement cases, settling outstanding financial liabilities, and facilitating the release of individuals detained in rental disputes. It also seeks to enhance the RDC’s operational performance by closing the maximum possible number of enforcement files during 2026.

Judge Abdulqader Mousa Mohammed, Chairman of the Rental Disputes Center, said “Sitr” reflects Dubai’s deeply rooted values of solidarity and compassion. He noted that the RDC’s role extends beyond judicial procedures to standing alongside families experiencing financial distress.

“Through this initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian principles that strengthen the stability of families and the wider community,” he said, adding that beneficiaries will be selected based on transparent and equitable criteria, including social circumstances, income sources, outstanding liabilities, and verified documentation.

Saif Omar Aldelail, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment, described “Sitr” as the organisation’s first domestic charitable initiative for 2026. He said the programme reflects the UAE’s humanitarian values and its commitment to supporting family stability and social cohesion.

The initiative targets the release of 111 defaulting tenants, settlement of 187 enforcement cases, and support for 232 eligible families. By combining humanitarian action with judicial efficiency, “Sitr” strengthens Dubai’s position as a global model for social solidarity and humanitarian leadership.
