Dubai: MG Motor has been appointed as the Official Automotive Partner for the 2026 and 2027 editions of the Dubai Marathon, bringing one of the Middle East’s best-selling automotive brands into partnership with the region’s oldest and fastest international marathon.

As part of the collaboration, MG Motor will supply a dedicated fleet of support vehicles to assist with race operations, logistics, and event infrastructure, including the official lead car. The fleet will feature the new MG HS Hybrid+ SUV alongside the fully electric Cyberster roadster, highlighting the brand’s expanding portfolio of efficient hybrid and electric vehicles.

Selected for its endurance and operational efficiency, the MG HS Hybrid+ offers a driving range of up to 1,287 km, making it well suited to the demands of marathon-day operations. Its advanced hybrid powertrain, intelligent energy management system, and regenerative braking ensure smooth, low-consumption performance throughout extended use, from leading elite runners to supporting logistics teams.

The 2026 Dubai Marathon, scheduled to take place on February 1, will mark the 25th anniversary of the landmark event. It was the first marathon in the region to achieve World Athletics Gold Label status and is expected to attract around 20,000 runners from across the world. Participants will compete in three race categories: 4 km, 10 km, and the full 42.195 km marathon.

Commenting on the partnership, Junaid Bukhari, Marketing Director of MG Motor Middle East, said the Dubai Marathon offers a strong platform to connect with a diverse and forward-looking community. He noted that the collaboration reflects MG’s focus on real-world performance while supporting lifestyle-led initiatives that promote active and inclusive communities across the UAE.

Since its regional launch in 2015, MG has grown to become one of the top five best-selling automotive manufacturers in the GCC, selling more than 70,000 vehicles last year. The brand is present in 12 markets across the MENA region and operates six showrooms and six service centres across the UAE.

MG Motor’s expanding new-energy lineup underscores its commitment to innovation and electrification. Alongside the MG HS Hybrid+ and the all-electric Cyberster, the range includes the MG 8 PHEV, which offers a class-leading driving range of up to 1,655 km through advanced battery technology and intelligent energy management.

Supporting its customer proposition, MG offers a manufacturer warranty of up to six years or 200,000 km on eligible models, subject to market terms and conditions. The brand continues to strengthen its aftersales network through investments in regional training facilities and spare parts warehouses, ensuring high levels of service and parts availability across the region.
