Dubai, UAE – Union Coop has renewed its strategic partnership with CoTopia Social Responsibility Foundation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the ‘Your Breakfast, Their Suhoor 8’ initiative, set to be implemented during the Holy Month of Ramadan 2026. The renewal marks the continuation of a successful collaboration spanning eight consecutive years.
The MoU was signed at Union Coop’s head office at Warqa City Mall by Mohamed Al Hashemi, CEO of Union Coop, and Yousif Al Obaidli, CEO of CoTopia Social Responsibility Foundation, in the presence of officials from both organizations.
Under the agreement, Union Coop will provide financial and in-kind support to sponsor the initiative, which aims to raise community awareness about reducing food waste, promoting food preservation, and reinforcing sustainability and social responsibility values. The initiative aligns with the humanitarian spirit of Ramadan and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The campaign will be implemented through a comprehensive set of awareness-driven activities, including the distribution of specially designed food storage containers, innovative media and awareness campaigns, volunteer engagement, and targeted educational content for various segments of society. Particular emphasis will be placed on children, with the objective of instilling positive environmental behaviors from an early age.
Commenting on the occasion, Mohamed Al Hashemi said the MoU reflects Union Coop’s strong commitment to supporting community initiatives that deliver long-term positive impact. He emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in enhancing social awareness, especially during Ramadan, and described the collaboration with CoTopia Foundation as a successful model of integration between the cooperative sector and social responsibility institutions.
Al Hashemi added that the partnership, which has continued for more than eight years, has contributed to launching high-quality initiatives focused on reducing food waste, promoting food preservation, and strengthening sustainability practices across the community.
For his part, Yousif Al Obaidli expressed his appreciation to Union Coop for its continued support and trust. He noted that the enduring partnership reflects a shared vision and commitment to creating sustainable social impact.
