Sharjah, UAE – A new chapter in early childhood education has begun in Sharjah’s rapidly growing Aljada community with the opening of Royal Kids Nursery, the area’s first premium British curriculum nursery. The launch comes through a strategic partnership with Reigate Grammar School, a respected UK institution with nearly three and a half centuries of academic heritage and a strong reputation for excellence.
Reigate Grammar School operates a global network of six schools across three continents, including four preparatory and nursery schools in the United Kingdom. This extensive experience in Early Years education has been brought to Sharjah, where Royal Kids Nursery is now delivering an authentic British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) programme designed to reflect established UK standards within a supportive and engaging learning environment.

The official opening ceremony welcomed senior representatives from the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), highlighting the importance of the milestone for the emirate’s education sector. Among those present were Abdelsalam Zainal, Manager of the Licensing Department, Engineer Tariq Al Hammadi, Head of the Buildings Section, alongside Engineers Khadija and Aisha. Their attendance underscored both regulatory support and the growing demand for premium early childhood education options in Aljada and neighbouring communities.
Speaking at the event, Founding Director Melonie Karriem emphasised the intentional design behind the nursery’s concept. She noted that each space, activity, and team member was carefully chosen to create meaningful experiences for children and families, reinforcing the nursery’s child-focused philosophy.
Managing Director Esref Temel of Royal Kids Nursery and Bright Capital Investment described the partnership with Reigate Grammar School as a significant step forward for early years education in Sharjah. He said the nursery aims to set a new benchmark for quality and confidence in the sector, while also confirming plans for expansion. A second campus is expected to open later this year in Masaar, reflecting what he described as a long-term commitment to growth across Arada communities and the wider emirate.

Shaun Fenton OBE, Executive Headmaster of the Reigate Grammar School Group, expressed enthusiasm about extending the school’s educational journey to younger learners in Sharjah. He highlighted the early years as a critical period of curiosity and discovery, adding that the nursery is designed to ensure every child feels valued, supported, and inspired within a community that nurtures individuality and confidence.
As the UAE continues to witness rising demand for high-quality early education, Royal Kids Nursery represents a notable addition to Sharjah’s academic landscape. Situated at Tiraz 5 within Aljada, one of the emirate’s fastest-growing master-planned developments, the nursery is positioned to serve a growing population of young families.
Royal Kids Nursery offers full-day programmes from 8:00am to 6:00pm, complemented by early drop-off options, flexible schedules, and enrichment activities tailored to the needs of working parents. The nursery follows the EYFS framework while integrating STEAM-based learning alongside elements inspired by Reggio Emilia and Montessori methodologies. This blended approach is reflected throughout its indoor and outdoor environments, encouraging exploration, creativity, and purposeful play.

Children are guided by British-qualified educators who deliver a holistic, child-centred curriculum aligned with international best practice. Oversight, training, and academic support from Reigate Grammar School help maintain consistent standards across communication and language development, social and emotional growth, and overall wellbeing — key pillars in shaping confident, capable young learners.
