Dubai: Dubai Police’s Ramadan initiatives have seen strong volunteer engagement during the first half of the holy month, with 1,170 male and female volunteers from diverse nationalities and age groups participating. Volunteers contributed to distributing iftar meals at mosques across Dubai and to drivers at traffic signals just before Maghrib prayer.

Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, commended the volunteers for their dedication to humanitarian and community work, reflecting the values of Emirati society during this month of giving, mercy, and forgiveness. He emphasised that their efforts were instrumental in the success of initiatives promoting solidarity and compassion — bringing joy to those fasting and sharing in the spiritual rewards of Ramadan.

Al Mansouri noted that Dubai Police offered 11 volunteer opportunities through its dedicated volunteer platform, enabling community members to take part in humanitarian initiatives during the holy month. “This aligns with government efforts to foster a culture of community participation and shared responsibility, supporting sustainable development and enhancing quality of life,” he added.

Additionally, He indicated that volunteers involvement in Ramadan initiatives reinforce volunteering as an institutional value through innovative programmes that empower employees and the public to contribute meaningfully to community work. “The high level of participation reflects growing public awareness of volunteering’s vital role in achieving sustainable development goals,” Al Mansouri concluded.
