Sharjah, UAE: The Arada Foundation has stepped in to support travellers stranded in the UAE following widespread flight cancellations, expanding its emergency accommodation programme with an additional 150 rooms at Aljada in Sharjah, offered free of charge.

The initiative comes after the foundation’s initial allocation of 100 rooms at Nest Hotel was fully booked within a short period. In response to continued demand, Arada made a further 50 rooms available to assist more affected passengers.

Currently, the 395-room Nest Hotel at Aljada is operating at nearly full capacity, with occupancy reaching around 95 per cent as stranded travellers continue to seek temporary accommodation.

Guests staying at the property are being provided with full-board accommodation, including three meals daily. In recognition of the holy month of Ramadan, Muslim guests are also offered iftar and suhoor at the Alsimrah Ramadan tent located at East Boulevard in Aljada, creating a communal space for those observing the fast while away from home.

Accommodation at The Nest Campus is being allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with travellers able to stay for up to seven days while arranging onward travel plans.

Rosa Piro, Director of the Arada Foundation, said the organisation moved quickly after seeing the growing number of travellers impacted by flight disruptions.

“Supporting communities in times of need, both locally and internationally, is central to the Arada Foundation’s mission,” she said. “When we saw how many travellers were affected by the cancellations, we wanted to ensure families had a safe and welcoming place to stay while they organised their next steps. By opening additional rooms at Nest, we hope to extend that support to as many people as possible during this challenging time.”

Travellers seeking assistance can call 800-ALJADA to secure their accommodation at Nest.
