Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi-based tech firm Origen has introduced DOMIA, a next-generation smart living system, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona, marking a new step in how artificial intelligence could shape everyday life at home.

Positioned as more than just another smart home platform, DOMIA brings Large Language Models (LLMs) into residential spaces with a focus on intelligence, context, and privacy. Rather than relying on basic automation or fixed routines, the system is built to understand household behaviour, recognise intent, and respond in a way that feels more intuitive and seamless.

At the heart of DOMIA is a multi-agent AI architecture, where specialised agents work together to manage tasks across the home. This allows the system to go beyond simple command-response functions, learning routines over time and adjusting settings such as lighting, temperature, and comfort based on how residents actually live.

What sets DOMIA apart is its ability to respond to situations, not just direct instructions. A casual remark like “It’s a bit dark” can lead to different lighting adjustments depending on the time of day or what is happening in the room. Similarly, a request such as “prepare the house for guests” prompts the system to coordinate multiple settings at once, from comfort preferences to access permissions, while adapting dynamically as conditions change.

Privacy remains a central part of the platform’s design. Instead of using cameras, DOMIA relies on mm-wave radar and LiDAR to detect presence and generate intelligent summaries without visual monitoring. The system also features a digital twin that offers a live 3D view of the home, giving residents real-time oversight and control without compromising privacy.

Origen says DOMIA is built for edge-native AI, with its AI Box acting as a local intelligence hub inside the home. By processing and storing data locally rather than in the cloud, the system offers faster response times, improved reliability, and greater data sovereignty for users.

With DOMIA, Origen is positioning the home as the next major frontier for large-model AI deployment. The launch reflects a broader shift in residential technology, moving away from connected devices toward integrated, privacy-first intelligence designed to work quietly in the background of modern living.
