Dubai: During the holy month of Ramadan, Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) reinforced its commitment to community welfare, rolling out a wide-reaching series of initiatives that touched the lives of thousands of individuals and families across the UAE.

As part of its Ramadan welfare programme, PAD distributed 600 food cards, helping families secure essential groceries during the month. In a significant humanitarian effort, the organisation also facilitated the return of 135 prisoners to their home country, working closely with partners to ensure their repatriation and reunion with loved ones. Over the course of 2025, PAD has successfully supported the repatriation of 670 prisoners.

Community outreach remained at the heart of PAD’s efforts, with more than 8,000 iftar meals served to deserving individuals throughout Ramadan. The initiative was driven by a dedicated team of volunteers who contributed their time daily to ensure smooth operations.

“Our community came together in a powerful way this Ramadan,” said Zahid Hassan, General Secretary of PAD. “With the support of our volunteers, donors, and well-wishers, we were able to reach thousands of people. We are also grateful to the UAE authorities for continuously supporting and facilitating our mission.”

Adding to the spirit of giving, PAD organised a special Eid gift distribution for 400 children from over 250 families, benefiting more than 1,500 individuals. The event brought moments of joy and celebration to families observing Eid away from home.

Faisal Sunka, Welfare Secretary at PAD, highlighted the deeper purpose behind the initiatives. “Ramadan reminds us of our responsibility to care for those around us. This year, our volunteers worked tirelessly every day to support families, workers, patients, and individuals facing hardship. Our focus was on providing meaningful, practical help during this special time.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan Medical Centre (PMC) continued its critical role in supporting the community by providing daily medical assistance throughout Ramadan. More than 75 percent of PMC patients received free treatment through its welfare services. The centre also extended free medical aid to stranded travellers affected by recent developments in the UAE, ensuring access to essential healthcare for those in urgent need.

PAD and PMC also hosted their Annual Donors Iftar, bringing together partners, supporters, and community members in a gathering that reflected the true spirit of Ramadan and reinforced shared commitment to service.

A key pillar of PAD’s welfare work lies in its careful screening process to identify genuinely deserving beneficiaries. The organisation credits the continued support of the community as a driving force behind the success of its initiatives.
