Dubai: The Aquila School, part of the International Schools Partnership (iSP), celebrated the official opening of its new secondary building today, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to exceptional learning facilities. The opening ceremony, held at The Aquila School, brought together students, parents, staff, and community members to commemorate the new facility.

Principal Wayne Howsen expressed his excitement, stating, “This is an exciting new chapter for The Aquila School. We welcomed our first Sixth Form IB cohort this year, and we are proud to offer all our secondary students the opportunity to learn in this amazing environment. It is amazing to think that when we originally opened, we had 67 pupils and 28 staff. We now have over 1,300 pupils and 260 staff.”

The ceremony featured student performances, showcasing their talents, and was conducted in dual language to emphasize the school’s commitment to high-quality Arabic language learning and multilingualism. Founding families were recognized, and attendees were given the opportunity to abseil from the building’s roof, mirroring the school’s initial opening celebration.

We thank the families who have been with the school since its opening in 2018 for their continued trust.”

The new block highlights the school’s dedication to providing secondary students with exceptional infrastructure, including specialist classrooms for design and food technology, a purpose-built black box theatre, a whole school canteen, a roof garden, and an additional hydroponics area, underscoring the school’s commitment to sustainability.
