Beijing, China – China Unicom Beijing and Huawei have unveiled the world’s first large-scale integrated 5G-Advanced intelligent network during the event “5G Capital on the Way – Lighting Up Beijing with 5G-Advanced.” This groundbreaking network supports a state-of-the-art 5G-Advanced smart commercial complex at the Workers’ Stadium and sets a benchmark with the industry’s first large-scale 10-gigabit 5G-Advanced network featuring air-ground integrated communications at the Great Wall scenic area.

The 5G-Advanced network covers over 10 million people, providing full 5G coverage and 85% 5G-Advanced coverage within Beijing’s 4th Ring Road and the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center. It supports advanced services like immersive videos, UHD live streaming, and cloud gaming. Additionally, renovated phone booths connected to the network offer convenient services like navigation, ride-hailing, and emergency calls.

China Unicom Beijing, Sinobo, GTVerse, and Huawei have equipped the Workers’ Stadium with a high- and low-band integrated 5G-Advanced network, achieving downlink peak rates of 11.2 Gbps and uplink peak rates of 4 Gbps. This allows up to 68,000 people to simultaneously watch 1080p videos and supports various innovative practices in the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), Internet of Things (IoT), and extended reality (XR).
