Dubai, UAE – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan and His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, held a significant bilateral meeting on Tuesday on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025 in Dubai. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties and transforming their longstanding fraternal relationship into a robust economic partnership.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and discussed avenues to expand cooperation across trade, investment, and development sectors. Emphasizing mutual benefits, they agreed to accelerate efforts to solidify an economic alliance that aligns with shared strategic interests.

The leaders also exchanged views on pressing regional and global challenges, particularly the escalating crisis in the Middle East. They called for the “immediate and full implementation” of a ceasefire in Gaza and stressed the urgent need to ramp up humanitarian aid for Palestinians affected by the conflict. Additionally, discussions touched upon stability in South Asia, underscoring the importance of peaceful resolutions to regional disputes.
The World Governments Summit, held from February 11–13, brought together global leaders to address governance and development challenges. The Pakistan-Kuwait dialogue highlighted the summit’s broader goal of fostering international collaboration.
Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to sustaining high-level engagements to further strengthen diplomatic and economic bonds, signaling a renewed focus on solidarity in an era of geopolitical uncertainty.
