Dubai, UAE – Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of the UAE Padel Federation, crowned the winners of the International Padel Federation (FIP) Gold Category Championship on Monday, marking a highlight of the 12th edition of the Nad Al Sheba (NAS) Sports Tournament. The event, held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and organized under Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s directives, continues to showcase “Limitless Capabilities” at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex during Ramadan.

Padel Triumphs
Sweden’s Simon Vazquez and Adam Axelsen clinched the men’s title after defeating the French-Spanish duo Maxime Joris and Guillem Figorla Santiago (7-5, 6-4). In the women’s category, Spain’s Barbara Las Heras and Esther Carnicero Matin secured victory over compatriots Laura Lujan Rodriguez and Marta Arellano Navarro (7-6, 6-3). The ceremony was attended by Ali Sajwani of Diamond Partner Damac Properties and tournament manager Hassan Al Mazrouei.

Nations Championship Underway
The NAS Padel Championship for nations commenced on Monday, featuring teams from the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iran, Australia, the Netherlands, and Saudi Arabia. Group stage matches will conclude on Wednesday, with semi-finals on Thursday and finals on Friday (March 7). Key matches include Bahrain vs. Iran and Australia vs. Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Upcoming Events
The tournament’s packed schedule includes:

  • NAS Open Doubles Padel Championship: March 8–12 (32 top doubles teams).
  • FIP Juniors Championship: March 13–16.
  • Community Padel Competition: March 16–20.

Jiu-Jitsu and Obstacle Challenges Begin
The NAS Jiu-Jitsu Championship starts Tuesday (March 5), featuring categories for men, women, juniors, and masters across various weight classes and belt levels. Junior competitions will be held on March 5, followed by senior divisions on March 6. Concurrently, the Obstacle Challenge Championship runs from March 6–10, alongside a March 8 Running Race.

  • Wheelchair Basketball: March 9–19.
