Fujairah, UAE – Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince, in collaboration with Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), unveiled the Fujairah’s Young Techpreneurs initiative on Tuesday. Designed for UAE national students in grades 3 to 9 across Fujairah, the program aims to cultivate technological innovation, entrepreneurship, and cybersecurity skills among youth, positioning the emirate as a regional hub for advanced technology education.
Scheduled to run from 6 April to 10 July 2025, the initiative will focus on three core pillars: fundamentals of programming and AI tools, advanced programming and machine learning, and entrepreneurship integrated with advanced technologies and cybersecurity. Through interactive workshops, tailored curricula, and blended learning (combining classroom, remote, and group sessions), the program seeks to equip students with critical technical expertise, foster creative problem-solving, and prepare them for future careers in tech-driven fields.
Building Future Leaders
At the launch ceremony, Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Crown Prince’s Office, emphasized the initiative’s alignment with Fujairah’s long-term vision. “Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders. Equipping them with cutting-edge technological knowledge is fundamental to our national growth,” he stated. “Through strategic partnerships and specialized programs, we aim to empower Emirati youth to harness global advancements and drive community progress.”
Echoing this sentiment, HBMSU Chancellor Dr. Mansoor Al Awar highlighted the university’s role in shaping “a generation capable of turning challenges into opportunities.” He described the initiative as a platform blending theory and practice to explore AI, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship, adding, “We aim to instill a culture of continuous learning, enabling students to lead the digital future with globally competitive skills.”
Program Structure and Participation
The initiative will select 200 students from Fujairah schools, offering age-appropriate modules to nurture foundational and advanced competencies. Assessments will include quizzes, hands-on projects, and final presentations, ensuring practical application of skills. Cybersecurity awareness and innovation in real-world business environments will form key components of the curriculum.
The collaboration underscores Fujairah’s commitment to investing in human capital and diversifying its economy through technology. By fostering early exposure to AI, machine learning, and entrepreneurial thinking, the emirate aims to solidify its position as a beacon for youth-driven technological advancement in the UAE and beyond.
