Dubai, UAE – The UAE Circular Packaging Association (CPA) unveiled its newly elected board of directors during its Annual General Assembly at Dubai Chambers this week, marking a pivotal step in advancing the nation’s circular economy ambitions. The association, a critical player in aligning packaging innovation with sustainability targets, will be led by industry veterans from global corporations, signaling intensified efforts to meet the UAE Circular Economy Policy 2031 and Net Zero 2050 commitments
Chaired by Mohamed Eldabaa of Procter & Gamble (P&G), the board includes Marcelo Piva of Tetra Pak as Vice Chairman, Mondelez’s Emeel Bishay as Treasurer, and directors from Majid Al Futtaim, Unilever, Agthia Group, and PepsiCo. Sara Jackson of Green Ethics was appointed Secretary General.

“The CPA is more than an industry association—it’s a platform for action,” declared Eldabaa, emphasizing the board’s focus on fostering partnerships, advocating progressive regulations, and accelerating circular packaging systems. The CPA aims to bridge gaps between policymakers and businesses, ensuring sustainable practices become central to the UAE’s economic vision.
With circularity gaining urgency globally, the CPA’s renewed mandate prioritizes scaling eco-friendly packaging solutions, shaping regulatory frameworks, and equipping businesses with tools to adopt circular models. The association also plans to amplify knowledge-sharing initiatives, positioning the UAE as a sustainability leader while supporting corporate transitions to greener operations.
As Dubai cements its role in climate innovation, the CPA’s strategic partnerships and policy influence are poised to play a defining role in the UAE’s journey toward a waste-free future.
