Dubai: The Health Festival 2025, held on Sunday, April 13th at Al Quoz Ground, drew over 5,000 attendees in a vibrant celebration of wellness and community spirit. Organised by the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), in partnership with GDRFA and SmartLife, the event honoured the UAE’s labor workforce—the unsung heroes who build and sustain the nation every day

Among the distinguished guests were Colonel Omar Matar Khamees Al Muzaina, Acting Assistant Director General for the Labor Relations Sector; Lieutenant Colonel Khaled Ismail Al Rahma, Head of the Labor Events Department; and the Consul General of Pakistan, Hussain Muhammad, along with several other dignitaries.

The festival aimed to express gratitude to the workers and provide a day focused entirely on their health and well-being. Free health screenings—including blood pressure, glucose, BMI, eye, and oral checks—were offered alongside awareness sessions on nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and disease prevention. A blood donation drive also formed part of the day’s outreach efforts.

“As part of our commitment to preventive healthcare, we organised free screenings and wellness checks for the workers to ensure they had access to basic services in a setting that celebrates their contribution,” said Muhsin Al Banna, Chairperson of Pakistan Medical Centre. “This event was about showing our workers that their health matters and their efforts don’t go unnoticed.”

The community spirit was palpable during the public health walk and a range of sporting events such as cricket, volleyball, tug of war, and arm wrestling. Cultural performances and a lively magic show added to the day’s excitement, bringing smiles to workers and their families.

Zahid Hassan, PAD General Secretary, described the festival as “a unique community-led tribute” reflecting the values of unity, inclusion, and service. “These hardworking men and women have helped build our nation with their bare hands,” he said. “The energy was incredible, and it reminded us why community work matters so deeply.”

One of the festival’s most memorable highlights was the “Hands of Unity” initiative—an ambitious Guinness World Record attempt featuring over 25,000 handprints forming the UAE flag. Each handprint symbolized a story of resilience and strength.

Participants were also treated to exciting giveaways, including smartphones, e-scooters, vouchers, and event tickets as tokens of appreciation.

The event’s success was made possible by support from the Government of Dubai and a host of generous partners, including Emirates Loves, RAKBANK, Samana Developers, Lulu Exchange, Mediclinic, Ajman University Dental College, American Wellness Center, Almarai, Aster Volunteers, and many others.
