Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global leader in medical technology, has inaugurated its state-of-the-art BD Training Center in Riyadh, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to advancing healthcare excellence in Saudi Arabia. The facility, located at BD’s Regional Headquarters, aims to equip healthcare professionals with advanced skills and knowledge to elevate patient care, safety, and operational efficiency while supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and National Healthcare Sector Transformation Program.
The center will serve pharmacists, nurses, lab technicians, doctors, surgeons, and phlebotomists through tailored training programs, roundtables, and workshops. By leveraging BD’s global expertise, the initiative focuses on intellectual capital development, institutional knowledge transfer, and addressing critical challenges such as sepsis, antimicrobial resistance, and healthcare-associated infections.
Maher Elhassan, BD’s Vice President and General Manager for the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye, emphasized the center’s broader mission: “The BD Training Center is more than just a training facility — it represents our commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and the development of healthcare capabilities. As we continue to invest in the region, we strive to empower healthcare professionals, caregivers, and providers with the tools needed to meet evolving challenges and improve patient outcomes.”

Aligned with BD’s global Signature Programmes, the center will offer product training, CME-accredited workshops, and advisory discussions on patient safety and workforce protection. It also seeks to combat preventable medical errors, a critical issue highlighted by the World Health Organization, which estimates that over 10% of patients globally suffer harm due to safety lapses in care.
Omar Malabarey, BD Saudi Arabia’s Country General Manager, added, “The BD Training Center is a transformative step forward for the healthcare sector in Saudi Arabia. Our focus is on creating an ecosystem where healthcare professionals can continuously learn, collaborate, and adapt to the rapidly evolving medical landscape. We look forward to collaborating with all stakeholders in the Kingdom’s ecosystem and drive meaningful advancements in patient care, safety, and innovation.”
The launch underscores BD’s role in addressing systemic healthcare challenges while advancing Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a regional leader in medical innovation. With a focus on practical solutions and global best practices, the Training Center is poised to strengthen the Kingdom’s healthcare infrastructure and improve outcomes for patients and providers alike.
